Jamie Murray and Michael Venus Capture Tournament Men’s Doubles Title

Great Britain’s Jamie Murray and New Zealand’s Michael Venus won their fourth men’s doubles title of the season at the Championships.

The second seeded pair defeated the American pair of Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow 6-4 6-4.

It was their fourth title in 2023 after Dallas, the Sprzka Open in the Bosnian city of Banja Luka and Geneva.

Victory at the tournament meant the pair moved up to ninth place in the ATP doubles pairings rankings.

Murray and Venus had a great doubles match, saving all 13 break points and dropping just one set against the Americans.

In other matches, Britain’s second-ranked Jodie Burrage was knocked out of the Ningbo Open after losing 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) to Tamara Korpatsch of Germany in the round of 32.

At the Japan Open, Britain’s Harriet Dart fell to seventh seed Veronika Kudermetova 6-3 7-6 (7-4).
